Purchase: I bought these for around $99.00 at Dover Saddlery about three months ago. My old Ariat half chaps were giving up.

Likes: The suede is decent quality and they fit well.

Dislikes: I had the same exact pair of half chaps from Ariat that I've had for about 5 years. They held up great and finally needed to be replaced. So obviously, I bought a new, identical pair. Three months later, the stitching is giving out, the snaps on the bottom have NEVER been able to close (I had to use pliers at first, until the snaps finally bent and now they can't close at all) the elastic is cracking and not looking good at all.

Quality: Awful.

Summary: I'm done with Ariat. If you read my review on the Heritage Paddock boots, pretty much the same thing happened with those as with these chaps. Five years ago, the quality was great and those chaps held up against a lot and still were going strong. Even though these are the same half chaps, they couldn't even hold up to 3 months! I've contacted Ariat to complain and just like with the boots, I've never heard back. I'm definitely looking for a new brand, because Ariat's quality has gone way down and their lack of customer service shows that they don't much care about it.
