Purchase: I purchased my Enduracool pants for summer wear, after truly enjoying TR's Toasties for winter riding. I bought them for $90 from the manufacturer's website. The color is coffee with charcoal Clarino full seat.
Likes: I really appreciate that the pants come in different lengths, including long, which was a generous leg length. As a pull-up style pant, without a zipper, the cloth covered wide elastic waistband was comfortable and kept the pants in place. The seams, including the synthetic leather, were finished to stay flat and out of the rider's way. The pant material is light, stretch and very easy to wear. The pants also launder well.
Dislikes: While the material is cool, it attracts dust, shavings and pieces of hay. I have to wipe my pant legs with a damp hand and hate to go out to lunch wearing them because they look like I took a "roll" in the stall. After three months of wear, the color of the pant fabric is fading on the tops of my thighs. At first I just thought it was dirt, but is real fading. When I contacted the manufacture, they commented that any fabric will eventually fade in UV light. True, but after only 3 months? I have many breeches much older than that which have not faded with hard use, including TR's Toasties.
Quality: The pants have excellent construction; well made overall. However, when I compared the 4 pairs of TR pants I own, I discovered that although they are all the same stated size and length, there is as much as 2 inches difference in leg length and some differences in waist and hip measurements. Their sizing is not very consistent and that is a significant problem when one orders online.
Summary: While I really like the cut and fit of these pants, the Enduracool fabric has negative characteristics that will keep me from buying another pair. Between the dirt attraction and the fading, and the lack of consistent sizing, I'm going to look elsewhere for my next pair of pants.
