Purchase: I have had trouble finding a fly mask with ears that would fit my 1/2 Arabian/POA. When my husband saw this size (which was a
size S, for an ArabianSM/Yearling we thought we would give it a try. It is still too big. Was wondering if there was a pony or foal size available. We had stopped at our favorite farm supply store (Mills Fleet Farm. We paid around $12.00 for it. We had purchased a large one for
my appaloosa gelding last year at a different Mills Fleet Farm and he wore it
most of the summer before it started to unravel along the cheek hem. We had paid
just about the same if not a little less.
Likes: The mask is light and easily kept clean especially after they have been rubbed in the mud when the horses roll.
Dislikes: The mask is a little stiff when first used
but does become less stiff with use.
Quality: The construction is well done and the quality is good for the purchase price.
After some wear and washing the hems do
start to unravel but nothing that can't be
fixed.
Summary: All together I have found that the masks work very well other than the size does run
large. Can not find size to fit really small horses/pony. The price is really a good bargain compared to other brands we have purchased. Especially like the ears
as we have a lot of gnats in our area.
