Model: Equi-Spot (View all Equi-Spot Fly Control reviews)

Category: Fly Control

Purchase: Purchased this product at my local feed store for $12. In hopes that it would prevent flies from attacking my horses.

Dislikes: Ok, where do I start? The small vile containers that hold the product are FLIMSY and tear VERY easily upon holding them and preparing to open them. The liquid fly repellent comes out TOO fast and you're supposed to measure how many ML's you use on each body part, and it's hard to do that because the liquid GUSHES out and doesn't give you a chance to. This product DOESN'T work! It's a waste of money, SERIOUSLY. This stuff is supposed to last for 14 days, and the next day, my horses are stomping, tail swishing like crazy, and being irritated by flies.

Quality: It comes 3 viles in a pack for $12. 1 vile a horse. It's kind of like flea treatment for cats and dogs, the way it is applied on the horses. The plastic viles are flimsy and break on you easily, so you have to be REALLY careful. The liquid has to be strategically placed on different sections of the horse's body ( along the pole down the crest, down the line of the back to the dock, a dot on under the forelock, and a strip on the back of each leg. You have to read the directions and apply a certain amount of Milliliters on each section as the directions say. You have to watch out and not get the stuff near any mucus membranes, touch it, or breathe it in...VERY hazardous. The stuff doesn't work worth a darn!

Summary: The flies still come back on the horses and don't seem phased by the product. Not worth your hard earned dollar or time! You are better off using feed-thru fly control, keeping your stalls clean, manure spread, flysheets/masks, boots, and using fly spray....there is NO easy way to protect your horse....sorry.
