Purchase: I bought an older thoroughbred mare about 4 months ago. She had been badly neglected, her old owners had just left her out in a pasture for 5 years, they didn't even look at her, let alone feed or take care of her. She was underweight and pretty ugly... i definitally took a chance on Jade. i immediately bought 28 pounds (over a 100 day supply) of weight builder for about $60 at a local whole sale equestrian place. I had used it with another 'rescue' horse of mine and it had worked like a charm.
Likes: This product really works. My mare is completely transformed. She has gained so much weight, her coat is silky and shiny and she has pretty dapples in the sun. It is super easy to feed, which is nice. She is now jumping 3'3" hunters and everyone at my barn thinks she's like 8 years old. I never thought this horse would look so healthy and be so happy.
Dislikes: My mare is a pickey eater and at first wouldn't eat her grain with the Weight Builder in it, but she got over that pretty quickly and decided she was hungry. There is a slight variation in the product, and sometimes it looks and smells different when you buy a new batch. She tends to be suspicious when i get new Weight Builder, but after a few days is chomping away happily.
Quality: This product does really work... the other weight supplements out there just don't compare. High quality product, but reasonably priced (less than a dollar a day).
Summary: I reccomend weight builder to someone who wants to fatten up their horse, but doesn't want the uncontrolled energy and risk of founder associated with feeding a lot of grain.
