Purchase: One of our guests in our horse business arrived with a Clinton Anderson Saddle. I rode in it for 4 full days. I absolutely LOVED it - down very steep hills, up big hills, doing all gaits - used it to train her horse and then rode my horse in it. Loved it so much that I bough one at the Equine Affaire and paid $1500 for it with the show special.
Likes: I love the quality - beautiful - and the preturned stirrups - how nice - the fit is incredible for my horses - we have 12 and I train horses - it also puts me in such a position that when a horse spooks and does the 5 foot sideways jump - my guy Dusty does this all the time - I never, ever, ever lose my balance - and I finally can jump with confidence in it - even though it is a western saddle and I am no jumper - I have become a jumping fool with the saddle - I cannot believe how balanced I am all the time in that saddle. It is used on Mustangs, Tenn. Walkers and Quarterhorses and the fit is just great. I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars thru the years to find a saddle that would fit both me and the horse. I have owned at least 20 saddles and always had to compromise. This one will be with me forever !
Dislikes: My only complaint - I am a very small person and the smallest one they make is equivalent to a 15inch western saddle - I could probably use a 14 inch - but, hey, regardless, I'll ride in that 15 inch forever.
Quality: The quality is beautiful, there is no breaking in period, the leather is soft and rich.
Summary: I am thrilled with the saddle - I just cannot get over the fact that I finally, finally, finally found one that works - that I am happy in and that my horses are happy in. Thank you Mr. Anderson and Martin Saddlery !!!
