Purchase: Bought it online in 2007 with Grandeur Physio Saddle Pad, English leathers and Western fenders. Paid appx.$1,400.00
Likes: The seat is super soft and comfortable to sit in; it's like sitting on a pillow, but at the same time it is a big minus of this saddle. Imagine how much stability you would have riding a pillow?
I loved close contact of the saddle. Western fenders were much comfortable to ride with than English leathers which were rubbing pretty hard even on short rides.
Dislikes: The biggest problem is that I couldn't post the trot in this saddle at all!!! and I didn't even attempt to canter. The saddle is just too bulky with all the thick padding. It's like sitting on a very soft and high pillow. I've tried riding in it in less bulky saddle pad, which did make balancing easier but at the same time it left the horse back unprotected. By the end of an hour ride I could definitely fill horse's spine with my seat bones, so I wouldn't recommend riding without special pad for more than 1/2 hour.
Quality: Quality seemed good at first, but after only a light use the leather went white in places of close contact with the leg. Also, not much rigging for attachments even though it is advertised a trail saddle.
Summary: In general, I would say that is it a very comfy and expensive bareback pad. It would be ok for short rides or for kids lead line lessons (walking only).
