Purchase: I got this bridle as part of a saddle package. Normally the bridle retails for $49.95 Cdn. I got the bridle in Havana colour, which perfectly matches my new brown Wintec 500 A/P saddle.
Apple Saddlery in Ottawa describes it as '5/8" bridle with raised browband and caveson. Complete with laced reins'.
Likes: My initial impression was good. The bridle looks well made and the stitching is okay, but as with all things, you get what you pay for. The leather isn't the greatest quality, but as a starter bridle, it more then does its job.
The reins have hook and stud ends which I like for their security.
Dislikes: I haven't had any problems with it yet, though my riding instructor got the same bridle with one of her saddle package orders and the bridles condition seemed to deteriorate quickly after being used on a sweaty / damp horse. The glaze is cracked and the bridles quality (or lack thereof) is starting to show.
Quality: All of the stitching is tight and the bridle looks nicely put together, though again, you get what you pay for. I plan on buying a better bridle soon in case I want to show - I'll use the Chetack bridle I have now for schooling only.
Summary: It's an okay bridle to start out with, but if you're looking for something that'll last a while, this probably isn't the one for you.
