Purchase: I received these reins as a gift from my trainer a few months back. He has had the same kind of reins for his Arabian gelding for a year or two, and they seem to be holding up well. I didn't pay anything for them, but on they cost from $42-$56 depending upon whether or not you are a Savvy Club member.

Likes: I really like the drape and weight of these reins. They are amazingly soft and supple right out of the bag and are a great aid when communicating with my horse. I am accustomed to plain and braided English reins as well as Western Rommel, roping, and split reins and none of them compare to these! The snaps are very handy- I usually have to buy snaps to put on my reins and these just saved me the trouble. Also, Parelli offers the same reins in a 9ft size for people who have ponies or just think the 11 ft is too long for them.

Dislikes: These reins are white with blue tracing and can get dirty as h*** if you aren't careful. Couldn't you come up with some other colors Parelli? The only other thing I don't like about these reins is, like I mentioned, the price- $56 for regular people but only $42 if you are a savvy club member. The price wasn't an actual problem for me considering my reins were a gift. :)

Quality: The ends on these reins are spliced back on the ends for extra support. Again, I really like the convenience of the snaps. However, I can see a potential problem if the snaps were to break. It looks like it could be difficult to replace them. I have had these reins for about 4-5 months and see no wear like you see on other rope reins. They aren't "fuzzy" because they don't get dragged around in the dirt like my Parelli ropes.

Summary: Even if I did have to pay for these reins, they'd be worth every penny spent. Me and my 2 geldings are very satisfied Parelli devotees.
