Model: Endurance, Aire Grip lining
Category: Trail Saddles
Purchase: I ordered it new through my local tack store and paid around $650. You can now find them online for MUCH cheaper. This was about 4 years ago.
Likes: Everything! Love it, love it, love it. I have owned 2 Abetta endurance saddles and they are just wonderful. Comfortable, secure, they fit great, the aire-grip (cool grip) lining is incredible, no saddle pad slippage whatsoever. These saddles wear like iron and last forever. The center fire rigging is more comfortable for the horses. Tons of Dee-rings to hang anything you can imagine. The 4" wide endurance stirrups are good too. Easy on the knees.
Dislikes: Seat is a little hard. I always used a sheepskin over it. It did take me a few rides Also, if you have nothing attached to all the rings, you sound like Santa Clause and his sleigh coming down the trail. No need for a bear bell if you're riding in an Abetta Endurance with nothing attached to the rings! Holy cow.
Quality: Great quality and construction. Cordura nylon with leather reinforced stirrup leathers. Especially for this price range, I don't think you could find a better constructed saddle.
Summary: Bottom line? I will never be without at least one Abetta endurance saddle in my barn. I ran into an endurance rider on the trail that was in an Abetta endurance and I asked how she liked it. Turns out she's an FEI ranked rider with over 15,000 miles, and has traveled all over the world doing 100 mile races, and all she uses are Abetta endurance saddles. AWESOME!!!!! That absolutely made my day.
Usefulness Rating: 3.5 out of 5.
