Purchase: Purchased used at a tack shop after sitting on just about every saddle in my price range, which was quite low. This one was by far the most comfortable and made my position in the saddle feel natural. It was definitely well used, but the leather was buttery soft and well cared for. The saddle was made in Walsall England.
Likes: This saddle is quite comfortable for both flatwork and over fences. It fit a wide range of horse backs which is nice when you are changing lesson barns and horses. Despite its apparent age, the leather is good quality and cracks that I purchased the saddle with never got worse.
Dislikes: Nothing! The stirrup bar is a tad too far forward for anything but really short stirrups for me, but that's fine when jumping! Some people have told me the channel down the center of the saddle should be wider under the cantle, but none of the horses I have rode this saddle in seemed to be bothered by it.
Quality: Excellent! It has held up to frequent riding for the past five years from me and who knows how many years before that. Soft old english leather and it cleans up really sharp.
Summary: Overall an excellent used saddle. Comfortable, looks great and it really taught me how to ride. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who finds a way to get their hands on one, however I have found these saddles to be rare. I definitely found a gem!
