Model: Circuit Pro
Category: Jumping Saddles
Purchase: From Dover, Paid their retail price.
Likes: I liked the shaped knee rolls and the seat is very comfy. The seat does not hurt your seatbones at all. The gullet is wide. The saddle fit my horse's back (He is a large QH) very well with no bridging, and gave him plenty of freedom in his shoulders. The leather on the seat and knee rolls was nice grippy, sticky leather.
Dislikes: The leather on the flaps. This was like cardboard. The finish was slick, almost like a painted or shellacked finish. The flaps would not take oil and there were blemishes in the finish itself. I could not get the flaps to break in and I found that from hip to knee, the saddle pushed my leg out away from the horse. I had much less leg contact and was loose in this saddle.
Quality: The construction was fine, stitching was neat and good, the quality of the leather on the flaps was inferior.
Summary: I think that Dover knows that there is an issue with the leather on this current batch of saddles. When I asked, I was able to return mine for a refund which I really appreciated.
