Purchase: After trialing and/or buying several dressage saddles, I now have a brand-new L&R Ellipse dressage saddle, and my horse and I couldn't be happier. Purchased from Arabian Saddle in AZ for $2350.
Likes: This is one of only two saddles (out of several) that my Lusitano is comfortable in. The hoop-shaped tree and flatter profile seems to be the answer to my saddle-fitting problems. I'm a petite rider, and it's very comfy for me as well. Many custom options are offered. I custom ordered mine and still paid less than any other saddle I was considering. I also received it in only about four weeks. The buffalo leather and movable stirrups bars are great.
Quality: The quality is top-notch. Years ago, I also had an L&R jumping saddle that was just as impressive.
Summary: I highly recommend L&R saddles. Especially the Ellipse as a dressage saddle for a round, big-shouldered, flattish horse. I highly recommend Arabian Saddle in AZ as well (they even sent me a loaner to use until I received mine).
