Purchase: I purchased this helmet at a local tack shop for $130.00. I bought it because I needed a new schooling helmet and I had seen this on one of my students and thought it was so cute.
Likes: This helmet is extremely comfortable! The fitting at the back of the helmet is easy to adjust to get a perfect fit every time you wear it. It has a nice wide brim to shade the eyes, but it sits low on your head and looks great. The helmet is covered in leather (I bought the chocolate brown) and just has a really classy look to it. I get compliments on this helmet literally everywhere I go, which I think is pretty funny since it is marketed as a "western" helmet. The harness is nylon web with a click in buckle, but the nylon is wrapped in calfskin until the straps hit below your chin. NICE! Because it is covered in leather, it cleans up easily using the same leather cleaner I use on my tack. A nice little bonus was that this helmet came with a free helmet bag included in the box!
Dislikes: No complaints.
Quality: The quality of the materials is obviously excellent. There are two little buttons on the either side of the helmet though (don't see that they serve any purpose, I think they are only decorative) that on my student's helmet have popped out a few times. But the quality and construction otherwise seems spot on.
Summary: This is a great schooling helmet that is extremely comfortable to wear and gives you a look much more sophisticated than a shiny plastic "brain bucket". It is a great addition for someone who is conscious of safety, practicality, and fashion all at the same time. I just love it!
