Purchase: A very nice lady sent these to me to try as they didn't fit her horse. They are usually around $65 per boot.
Likes: Same durable construction as the original easyboot.
Dislikes: WILL NOT STAY ON without gaitor...and GAITOR RUBS.
I've used regular easyboots for years, and I really tried and tweaked this boot...really wanted it to work as I thought it might not cause as much depression of the front of the hoof wall as easyboots will do over time.
I really tried very hard to re-adjust and work with this boot, and finally gave up.
The gaitors rubbed no matter how tight or loose, and without the gaitors they will NOT stay on.
I actually had 2, but lost one boot...never to be recovered despite searching for hours.
Quality: Seems to be very well made as the original easyboot, but never stayed on long enough for me to really test it.
Summary: Bottom line is go with the original easyboot in preference to this one. I've seen the updated Easyboot bare, and it doesn't seem different enough to invest in. My overall opinion is that gaitors will rub, no matter the boot, so save your $ and go with a plain easy boot and duct tape or vetwrap. You'll be happier than getting stuck with a $65 bare that won't stay on or rubs severely!
