Purchase: I acquired a Hanoverian last fall and used my old English dressage saddle on him which was great for Thoroughbreds. However by early 08 it was becoming apparent that his muscle and weight gain meant the saddle was becoming too small. With two new horses, new trailer and barn renovations happening,I was not in a position to purchase a new saddle that year. I started searching various ads for a used dressage saddle. I liked Stubbens because of quality, I previously had ridden in a Stubben special (Schulteis) but sold it because it was a built too wide in the twist. I came across a used black Stubben Excalibur. I tried it and it not only fit him but the younger dutch warmblood as well. I paid $500 for it.
Likes: -Comfortable seat -Fits both warmbloods. -I like the sealed single flap.
Dislikes: The color has faded from the knee rolls.
Quality: This used saddle is solid Stubben quality -its great.
Summary: I really like this saddle. Because of it I will be looking at new Stubbens in the future.
Usefulness Rating: 2.6875 out of 5.
