Purchase: I don't actually own the item but I have been riding in it for the last 2+ years. I assume it was around $1000 at least new.
Likes: I love the fact that it's treeless; it will fit any and every horse, you are also able to feel the horse much better than before. I have ridden a lean lengthy tall QH and a short stocky fat pony in one day with no dry spots!
I don't think I will ever go back to treed saddles.
Another thing that is wonderful about these saddles for those short-legged people, such as myself, is the fact that they do not often have stirrup fenders. This makes it so much easier to move my feet and legs around to have easier access to different spots of my horse's big belly.
Dislikes: There are only two things really. The first would be the fact that the seat is harder than those genuine Bob Marshall saddles but they are still very enjoyable. The other bad thing is that I've noticed that this saddle does tend to throw me more forward than other saddles but then again it is a barrel racer.
Quality: Made of quality leather from Circle Y, there are no problems with the leather for this saddle and it is obviously used. The horn is braided rawhide and the stirrups are held with nylon straps which have held up very well.
Summary: The bottom line is that this is a great saddle, it definitely serves it's purpose as a barrel racing saddle and will hold up for many years.
