Purchase: I bought these webbers from Stateline Tack a couple years ago. I think I paid about $30 for them back then. I bought them for endurance riding to match my wintec saddle, and because they are supposed to be more comfortable than traditional leathers because they eliminate the buckle 'lump.'
Likes: The Webbers are solidly contructed and easy to install on your saddle. They are even easier to adjust, though they have less range of adjustment than most leathers as the holes are elongated and further apart.
As long as I have had these leathers they have not stretched, discolored, or frayed, (though I hear older models were more destructible).
Dislikes: Maybe it's just my saddle, because the leather hook is double recessed, but I never really noticed much of a difference between the 'buckle lump' being there or not.
Sizing these is different, so make sure you double check you've done your measurements right. (I accidently bought the wrong size and had to have more holes punched).
Quality: The leathers are double or triple stitched (beta?) or some other synthetic leather material over nylon. I wish it was fully encased as you can see the nylon between the outer layers of synthetic leather.
Wintec nicely did not emblazen their name on these, so they should be fine for show. From afar, they look just like leathers.
Summary: These leathers have served me well for endurance and trail riding. They feel a little less sturdy than regular leathers at first because they have a little less give, and it's hard conceptually to be comfortable with the idea of one metal hook essentially holding all your weight, but after a little getting used to, the convienience and comfort won me over.
