Purchase: I purchased my size 75 Taka used from a friend of mine for $50 when she sold her horse. This blanket was purchased for my Rocky Mountain Horse/Quarter Horse mare, and was two years old at the time of purchase.
Likes: I love this blanket! It fits my mare perfectly, and her shoulders don't fall out of it like they do in many other blankets I've tried on her. The blanket has a nice long drop on the sides to protect her upper legs and belly. The blanket always stays upright even after rolling and never shifts to one side. The blanket fits her perfectly, and never rubs her anywhere. This blanket has never soaked through, and my mare has always been dry and warm all winter long, even in the worst of weather. The straps always stay securely in place. And this blanket is durable, as it is now five years old and going into its sixth winter and still looks like new, even after being turned out with other sometimes aggressive pasture mates.
Dislikes: I think the only thing I don't like about this blanket is that it has the T hooks on the front for the two chest straps instead of buckles, so there is no adjust ability in the chest closure of the blanket, so thankfully it fits my mare perfectly as is.
Quality: This blanket seems to be of great quality! My blanket is five years old and still going strong and has survived the teeth and feet of other pasture mates. The blanket doesn't have a tear in it and still looks and functions like new. All the hardware is still securely in place.
Summary: I love this blanket and have definitely gotten my money's worth out of it, and it still has lots of life left in it. I did re-waterproof it this summer, because last winter water was beginning to soak into the outer shell a bit, but never soaked through the outer shell, so my mare stayed warm and dry. But the blanket got five years use out of it before needing to be re-waterproofed, so I can't complain at all. After re-waterproofing the blanket this summer, it is repelling water just fine again so far this fall. I can't say enough about this blanket. I hope to get several more years use out of it!
