Jumping Saddles

Manufacturer: Bates
Model: Elevation J
Category: Jumping Saddles

Purchase: I bought this saddle on ebay for $1,200. I was looking for a replacement for my too small collegiate.

Likes: This saddle is gorgeous and very supple. The leather is soft and I didn't really need to break it in even though it was brand new. It has a forward seat and I ride with very short stirrups in it and am very comfortable because that is the way it is built, for a jumper. The blocks are very helpful with keeping my leg in place and stop it from sliding back. I feel very secure in this saddle even though it does not have a deep seat. Caramel is a gorgeous color. It fits the horse snugly and doesn't slide. It also has with cair air panels and easy-change gullet system.

Dislikes: The leather will stain when it gets wet and scratched pretty easily.

Quality: It is very nice quality for the price and the leather is very supple. Also it has Cair air panels which are very comfortable for the horse. They adjust well and distribute weight much better than traditional wool flocked panels. It also has an easy-change gullet system so if you have a young horse that is growing you can change the tree yourself.

Summary: I would buy this saddle a hundred times over! It is great quality especially for the money. It's very nice to ride in and comfortable for the horse and rider. I suggest this saddle for all jumper riders, lower or upper level. I won't even let my mom ride in it I like it so much! :)
