Purchase: I was doing my yearly shopping at Timmermanns Ranch and Saddle Shops annual sale when I cam across sets of these Double Lock Splint Boots. Their sale always uncovers a lot of treasures but these boots are not only functional but FUN! For $25, the horses will be blinged out in a wide array of colors. The retail on these boots was more than double the sale price.
Likes: AS I mentioned, fun is key! These were unusually colored splint boots to match every pad you could possibly own. After our three hour trail ride, not only did we look cute, BUT the boots were still in place. Splint boots often do not have a chance to slip in a 14 second barrel event. On a three hour trail ride, the chances of our boots moving is much higher. I love that these boots stayed in place and were very easy to clean after traversing through water, mud and sand!
Dislikes: I wish there would have been more colors available at the sale. As it is we were able to buy the maroon, blue, and grey pairs.
Quality: These splint boots held up beautifully in terrain that was not ideal but is common in Illinois at this time of year. They also survived the washing after the ride. I look forward to using these boots for a while on many more trails!
Summary: I love when you can get a bargain that is truly a great buy! these boots are well made and well-suited for my horses. I was not disappointed in them at all and look forward to their longevity...as well as mine!
