Purchase: I bought two blanket in the Fall of 2004, from Greenhawk (and my freind bought one as well) for $199.99CDN on sale, from $269.00CDN. We both recently bought Throughbreds that don't get much of a winter coat, and it get's pritty cold and nasty some days up here so we need blanket that would keep them warm and dry.
Likes: The blanket did there job really well. My two and my freind horse were the only ones that cam in the barn dry after a very wet day of heavy rain, freezing rain and wet snow. All the other horses were soaked along with there blanket. They were also very durrable. My one horse is very abusive to his blankets. It did not rip in one place! it has a few pull marks but i can live with thoses. my other horses blanket and my freind blanket look as good as new!!! (outside of a little mud) The blanket are alos lined with a material that seems to wisk away moisture. i don't know if it is designed to do so, however my horses never were sweaty even when it got to be a little warm for the blankets
Dislikes: I only have two complants. my friends horse is very narrow in the chest so he did not have the problem i had. It rubbed the hair off there sholders, and my gelding on his hip as well. I will have to get them sholder gards for next winter. My gelding blanket also had a 5 inch seperation from the binding from the blanket. i took it back and had it fixed at no charge to me. (Greenhawk paid to have it fixed)
Quality: The blanket were over all really well made and stood up to the abuse horses on daily turnout put them through. Even though my one blanket had a smal defect, the other two were fine so i suppect i got a bad apple in the group.
Summary: i would highly recomend any of the gold line of blankets. They have replaced the model i had with a new one that i would buy in a heart beat, without think twice. (even at reg. price) Blanket are expensive and i don't want ot replace them every year. These will definatly last me a few years. I will be buying the new version for my pony for the winter coming.
