Purchase: I bought this set of reins for a vacation to Eminence Missouri. I bought the reins with a headstall and breast collar from www.riataleather.com for $26.
Likes: I love the rawhide detail, and the super heavy leather used for the reins. The stitching is very heavy duty and high in quality.
The reins are beautiful and have stood up to hard conditions, through rivers, rain and being stepped on by the horse!
The finish is still beautiful, and this is the first set of reins that I haven't had looking cruddy after just a few times on the trail.
Dislikes: I wish all my tack matched the beautiful headstall/reins I bought, so I'm saving for a saddle now!
Quality: The stitching is so well done and has really stood up to the very HARD use I put it through. I ride up and down really rough country and the reins still look great.
The leather is very heavy and strong, and the finish has stood up great to hard use and tough conditions.
The customer service I got from this company is also great, even when there was a problem, they fixed it right away..
Summary: I love these reins, and they are perfect for trails. Split reins are safer for water crossing, and why not buy some beautiful reins instead of plain ones?
These reins are good enough for the show ring, yet less expensive than plain ones I saw elsewhere.
