Purchase: I ordered three of these from Dover Saddlery for my riding students to use. I ordered a small, a medium, and an x-small. Each cost about $30. They are available in black and white.
Likes: These are very affordable ASTM/SEI certified saftey helmets. They cost less than most helmets on the market but still offer great protection. They come in a variety of sizes and can be further adjusted by adding or removing pads from the liner. I got them because I think it is important to have properly fitting helmets for my riding students to wear, both for their safety and to reduce the chance of having to face a lawsuit. The parents of students appreciate having these available. They want their children to be protected but don't always want to buy their own right away.
Dislikes: The size cannot be adjusted as quickly or easily as it can be for helmets with a dial or Flip-Fold Fit. These helmets are not, in my opinion, as attractive as many helmets. However, the more attractive helmets tend to cost at least twice as much.
Quality: Like all Troxels, the construction and quality is good and the helmet is ASTM/SEI certified.
Summary: If you want to protect your head without spending a lot of money, buy one of these helmets. At this price there is no reason that a rider should not have their own properly fitting approved saftey helmet.
