Purchase: i bought this saddle used about 2 years ago. i paid $700.00 for it and was happy at first. i then started to notice my horse acting strange every time i went to put the saddle on and take it off. he started to get dry spots just below his whither on each side after i had exercised him. one day, i decided to go on a pleasure ride and out of nowhere he freaked out and bucked me off i pulled my groin and had to walk back home. after this incident i took the saddle to a local saddle maker and he took the leather off the tree just to see what was going on. the saddle bars are 2 totally different sizes!! because these are commercially made now they are hiring people just to assemble them not people who actually know a saddle.... one bar was full quarter horse and the other was a semi quarter. every time i rode the saddle the bars would dig in to his whither and make him sore.. i would not recommend this saddle to anybody. all of the billy cook saddles i have tried on my horse are all made with the same bars. even if they say they are full quarter horse bars they fit the same as the ones that say semi quarter.......
Likes: nothing. in this case it was a safety issue i could have been injured worse due to someones poor knowledge and mistakes.
Dislikes: hard to find a horse that this saddle will fit properly. it has 4 pressure points on the back instead of an even fit across the horses whole back.
Quality: it is well made from the surface view. but underneath they are very poorly put together.
Summary: this saddle from seeing how it is put together under the leather i wouldn't ever ride my horse in one again.
