Purchase: Winters here in Eastern Canada get extremely cold up to -30c and I was looking for a quality winter leather riding boot that was warm. I purchased the Ariat Grasmere from my local tack shop for $250.00. Ouch! but I just had to try them out.
Likes: They fit very well at first and provide adequate insulation for very cold days when riding indoors. The leather quality is durable yet soft and easy to clean.
Dislikes: I began to notice a severe decrease in the height of the boot (no matter how tight I tied the laces on the side), they just kept bunching. The boots became far too supple and they look ridiculous hanging by the bottom of my ankles.
Quality: I can't say the quality was bad, on the contrary, it held up well to the cold and dampness of our indoor arena at -30c. However, the construction or design of the boot is very poor. At first they look very nice but lose their beauty once they start bunching around the ankles.
Summary: Bottom line is you don't get what you paid for. Good quality with a poor design. At least they do keep your toes warm!
