Purchase: I bought this collar with the hopes that it would at least lessen the amount my horse cribs. I bought it from 123tack.com for $55.00 after researching the product.
Likes: The design is simple and easy to put on from both sides of the horse. It is really well made and appears that it will stand up for quite some time. The strap is also much larger, so I thought it would be less likely to cause sores.
Dislikes: It doesn't work! The $10 nut-cracker style cribbing collar works better than this. As every advertisement suggests, I put the collar on slightly loose to see if that worked- nope. Every day I would tighten it a notch, and it never worked. The only time he didn't crib was while I was physically standing beside him and tightening it! I had this thing tighter than the Miracle Collar (which also doesn't work) and it still did nothing. There is not guarantee, so I am out the $60+ in the product and shipping costs. There should also be instructions with this item.
Quality: The item is well-made and will stand up for years of use. The wide strap should not cause sores the way other smaller straps can.
Summary: If you are leaning towards purchasing one, please borrow one from someone to see if it will even work for you. I am stuck with a $60+ collar that does nothing.
