Purchase: I purchased this saddle a few years ago in Belgium. I needed a new saddle for a young warmblood and had heard good things about the Prestige line. At that time I paid the equivalent of about $2100.00.
Likes: The Doge is the European version of the Optimax. They were unavailable in the U.S. until recently, I believe. From the very first time I sat on it, the saddle was extremely comfortable. It "broke in" easily. The leather is buttery soft and, in general, the saddle is of the highest quality. I especially love the fact that this saddle does not lose it's colour as do some other expensive well-known dressage saddles I've had/used. It has never gotten those ugly gray worn spots!
The tree is a poly-carbon material and makes this saddle very lightweight; it is also adjustable through an authorized Prestige dealer which makes it convenient as the horse's muscles develop and change.
Dislikes: There's nothing I don't like about this saddle
Quality: The construction of the saddle is top quality. The leather and the stitching are superb.
Summary: I don't think that you can go wrong with this saddle. It puts the rider in a deep-seated position and I find that the position of my leg classically correct. It's like having a custom saddle without all the expense.
