Purchase: Bought at equine affair 2002 in Massachusetts. I was in the market for a new saddle and like the idea of having a "saddle fit for life" and one that would easily be refit to another horse. Paid just under $4000.00 to have the saddle fit to both my horse and I.
Likes: Super Comfy saddle. Was made just to my likings! Wonderful leather and excellent craftsman's ship.
Dislikes: Customer service was horrendous. Not once but four times! Getting someone out to refit my saddle was like pulling teeth. Schleese reps were rude and NOT helpful. "Saddle Fit for Life" is a lie because I could never get them to come out to refit the saddle! Shipped in to have the saddle refit (an hour+ away from my house) and the girl was a new fitter and did a horrible job. Had to drive another hour+ to get it refit by a more experienced person! Finally gave up with Schleese and found a non Schleese saddle fitter who did an EXCELLENT job!
Quality: Construction and quality was very nice and worth the money.
Summary: While the product was nice and what I wanted the customer services was horrendous. Customer service with them is key because to have the saddle refitted you must go through them or loose your warranty. There were times when I had to call five or six times to actually get a response and the responses I was given were rude and inappropriate for that amount of money I spent on the saddle!
