Purchase: I bought this saddle used from a friend. It was in beautiful condition as the friend bought the saddle and sold the horse she bought it for shortly thereafter! Barely used the saddle. I got what I thought was a great deal for $500.
Likes: Comfortable seat though I did not like the areas under the thigh and used a wool seat cover to keep my legs from getting sore. I'm sure this is a matter of rider preference and saddle seems to work well for some people.
Dislikes: Didn't fit ANY of my horses. It had a medium tree and I have found that Tucker trees are just poorly designed or something. I owned a total of 5 Tuckers at one time. Some bought used, some new. I have sold ALL but one and it is for sale now. There is definitely a fitting issue with these saddle, especially around the wither area. I've done an informal survey along the trail and found that lots of folks have this problem. IF the saddle fits your horse, it's a great ride. If not, your horse suffers.
Quality: Good quality though the black saddle fade and scuff terribly compared to the brown saddles. Seat are unsurpassed in comfort. Too bad the manufacturers can't pass that comfort on to the horses!!
Summary: I personally will never buy another Tucker as all of the 5 saddles I owned turned out to be disappointments. PLEASE ride them on a trial basis before you purchase and put them to the test. As I said, if the saddle fits your horse, it's the best ride you ever had because Tuckers seem to me to be all about rider comfort!
