Purchase: I had been looking for a leather saddle to show in since I have been riding in my Wintec 2000. I wanted a saddle with the gullet system and CAIR since I knew both worked well for the horses I ride. I bought this from VTO Saddlery when they had their 25% off everything sale. I paid $1350 for this.
Likes: I love this saddle. It fits me very well. I am shorter and sometimes saddle flaps are too long to put my knee in the right place. These are perfect for me. If you were taller, you would need either the long or forward flap. I like the softness of the leather. It cleans up well and conditions nicely. I thought I would mostly ride in my wintec and use this for shows and events, but I pretty much ride in this all the time unless the weather is bad and I don't want to get it wet/muddy.
Dislikes: Since the leather is really soft, it scratches easily; however,they usually come out easily with a little glycerine soap and water.
Quality: I feel the stitching is great. I like the leather quality. It still looks great and I have been riding in it about 4 days a week for a year.
Summary: I love this saddle. I am actually looking to get the Bates Innova for my dressage saddle now. I highly recommend.
