Purchase: purchased used in Summer 2008.

Likes: My horse loves this saddle. It allows freedom of movement for her big shoulders. I love this saddle. It's SO comfortable. In a regular treed saddle, I have a "one hour butt." After that my seat bones feel like they are coming through my skin. Not the case with the Ansur. And it's the closest thing to feeling like I am riding bareback! Being able to feel every movement of my horse allows me to better anticipate her movements and be a better rider for her.

Dislikes: I wish there was another flap so I could put my leathers under it. However, that would compromise the wonderful light weight of the saddle and its feel.

Quality: Good quality leather. Safety stirrup bars. The base had broken down on this saddle and needed to be replaced. This is something to look for if you are planning to purchase a used Ansur.

Summary: Lightweight. Allows my horse to move better and more freely. No tree to block her movements. Stirrups are set back so that you are not fighting the saddle to try to get in the proper classically aligned position.
