Purchase: I purchased this product at a feed store (which is the only one in my area that carried this product) for $42 because my farrier suggested this product to treat my horses' hooves for thrush/white line. Their hooves were getting pretty bad because of the mud we get in winter.
Likes: This product is WONDERFUL! It doesn't stink like other hoof disinfectants and actually is calming because it has Tea Tree Oil in it. It penetrates the hooves and lasts a long while. It is potent and has a thick consistency, and goes a LONG way.
Dislikes: I wish they had it in a spray bottle, but I guess you can put it in one yourself. It can be a mess, but it's well worth it to treat thrush/white line.
Quality: It comes in a large bottle and is made by Life Data. It consists of Tea Tree Oil and Tained Iodine. It doesn't stink or smell putrid and doesn't stink up your hands. The hooves must be dry and cleaned out and your horse must be on a clean mat in order to get good results. You apply it with a brush (I just use a good size paint brush that I found new in the barn)and it works perfect. It says on the bottle to do it everyday, but my farrier said 2x's a week is enough, and it has been. You let it sit for about 15-20 minutes with your horse on the mat so that it can penetrate the hooves. It does stain so don't get any on your clothes.
Summary: I have gotten EXCELLENT results using this product and am glad my farrier recommended it. It is hard to find, at least in my area, but is well worth searching for it. My horses hooves are getting stronger and the thrush/whiteline is disappearing and they are feeling better.
