Purchase: After searching long and hard and reading many reviews on this site, I decided to give this saddle a try from Sycamore Creek Saddles, for my A-frame narrow backed hard to fit Missouri Fox Trotter. I was looking for an endurance style, lite weight, comfy seated saddle for a reasonable price. This saddle cost $499.00 plus shipping, total of $551.00 I thought was very reasonable.
Likes: I love it, It was exactly what I was looking for, the tree was custom fitted to my MFT's back, through pictures and measurements which was easy to do. I had the seat color changed no problem and the seat and bars are padded exactly how I was wanting my saddle done. The only saddle I found with such a comfy memory foam padded seat, and I looked long and hard. The stirrups are made already positioned right. I am so pleased with everything.
Dislikes: Nothing really, the saddle strings are pretty light weight so probably will replace, the cinch is leather and felt covered with a sewn in d ring probably wont use it for trail riding but might come in handy for something else.
Quality: I went over this saddle with a fine tooth comb as I am very picky, quality is excellent, stitching is tight and uniform, leather is soft and supple, saddle is balanced and well made. This saddle is hand made in Columbia and for a hand made foreign saddle it is excellent. Not junk and for the price and the custom made quality this saddle is well worth the price and is an excellent value for your money.
Summary: Even though this is a paso fino saddle I had it custom fitted to my Fox trotter and I am so glad I did, Tony was easy to deal with. I would recommend this saddle and dealership to anybody who is looking for a comfortable saddle thats well made for a hard to fit or even not hard to fit horse. I'm sure when my trail riding buddies get a look they will want one too.
