Purchase: I purchased this item from a local feed store and paid $69.95 for it. We have had unseasonably cold weather and due to "extreme weather conditions" my daughter's 7 year old Thoroughbred could not be worked. He was driving everyone in the barn crazy with his naughty antics.
Likes: It is simple, durable and it works!!!
Dislikes: Maybe wish the holes were a different size to allow for bigger treats- pieces of carrots, etc. Also, wish it wasn't $69.95 HOWEVER knowing how much he is enjoying it, and how it keeps him "out of trouble" it was money very well spent!!
Quality: Appears to be a very good quality and durable, hard plastic ball, about the size of a soccer ball, with a flush "twist cap" for refilling. Available in red or purple.
Summary: Our adorable gelding is quite the "Man Diva"...He had a former life as a race horse and is definitely happiest when he has a job and is busy. If he's not busy with work he finds all kinds of trouble to get into in his stall. He makes his own fun!
We recently had weather conditions that prevented him from his usual work routine for 2 weeks. He was going crazy in his stall and driving anyone around him crazy.
I found the "Lik-it" SNAK-A-BALL at our local feed store and loved the concept. I was skeptical because I've purchased SO many "toys" he either doesn't play with or loses interest in quickly. This ball has been a Godsend. I purchased it 1 month ago and given his high level of interest in it, you'd think it was brand new. He loves the noise the contents make as he pushes it around and loves the goodies that fall out. I've been using wet or dry cob and Empower to fill the ball with. The barn owner expressed to me how impressed she is that he is STILL playing with it...now she plans to purchase several for her own horses.
Over the years we've tried almost every toy on the market and this is the only one that has not just captured but held his interest.
I wish I could say this about more of my purchases... "It was money VERY well spent!!"
