Model: Circuit Pro
Category: Jumping Saddles
Purchase: Purchased on Ebay for around $400 delivered. It was slightly used but nicely broken in. I bought this saddle as a short term saddle for a horse I was starting who required a wider tree.
Likes: Looks and rides like a more expensive saddle. I normally hate knee rolls/pads but this saddle has the knee rolls in a place that actually helps to keep you in the saddle and doesn't force your leg back. The panels are larger than I am used to on other saddles which gives you a little more contact with leather. I find that it is balanced pretty well and doesn't pitch you forward or backwards. I have just used the saddle for flat work and have not yet jumped a horse in it.
Dislikes: The wide tree is a little narrower than I expected. Mine is printed with a 3.5 for the width. The quality of the leather is pretty middle of the line. If you use a rough leather sponge or too much water with glycerine when you clean it, the color and dye will come off. I use Passier leather conditioner and that seems to help the saddle hold the dye really well.
Quality: The leather is okay - it seems to do better with less cleaning and maintenance than other saddles. I have not noticed any tree problems and my horse seems to be pretty happy to have it on her back. I would say size-wize, that the seat runs a little larger than other saddles and the tree runs a little smaller than other saddles.
Summary: Overall it's a great product if you are looking for a middle of the line saddle. I have owned Pessoas, HDR, Hermes and Bates saddles and find this one to have better construction and slightly better leather than the Pessoa and HDR. I would highly recommend this saddle for someone who has an easy to fit horse and wants some security in the tack.
