Purchase: I have a 2 yr old curly filly who is going to a trainer this spring. She has a short back, round belly and long stride. I knew that my Billy Cook roping saddle would not be one to fit her. I found Crestridge Saddlery on line and read many reviews on their saddles. I contacted Debra at Crestridge and sent photos and measurements.Debra fit us with a synthetic
Crusade Lite! It fits great! I paid a mere
$740. for this and it is so worth that and more!! I am so pleased!
Likes: This is a WELL MADE saddle! It weighs a bit over 20#, is all good leather on the seat forks and cantel and synthetic on the skirt and fenders. The seat is padded, and the saddle very comfy! One wonderful thing is the fit on my horse! It could not be better for the Curly build!!! I would recommend to every curly owner! And Debra at Crestridge is a wealth of knowledge in fitting!!
Dislikes: Cannot say one negative thing. It is far superior to what I had even imagined.
Quality: Top Quality. Superior construction.
A lot of thought went into this saddle with many rings to tie onto when on trail rides. It is sturdy and built to last even though classified as a synthetic.
Fit for both rider and horse--terrific!
Summary: Debra at crestridge made this all so easy and possible and took all the stress and frustration away, in search for the perfect saddle for my curly filly. I am so pleased. I would recommend Crestridge to anyone with a hard to fit horse.
The Crusade Lite saddle is a great saddle for the Curly horse build. It not only fits my filly, but my daughters curly gelding who is 4 yr old, perfectly!
