Purchase: A lady was giving away an amazing Arabian with stupendous bloodlines for free, because "she didn't have the finances to continue to train it". Lily was gorgeous, with a typy head and I fell in love the moment I saw her. Her owner said she would be an amazing showmanship/halter/hunter/equitation horse on the Arab circuit, and my mom was thrilled. The owner needed her out that day, so she loaded her up and delivered her to my barn. I figured I could get on and ride her and win. I was an idiot. This mare was psychotic. She bucked, reared, galloped, refused, turned, and kicked out. Her owner wouldn't take her back, and we were stuck with a psycho horse. Everyone at our barn called us idiots. We hired a trainer, and I soon was able to help train Lily. Because I was bucked out of my shallow Crosby C/C so easily, my trainer recommended I get a cheap A/P saddle to help me "stick on". This was $200 on ebay.
Likes: Well, it sure helped me stay on. It's got a really deep seat and dressage-esque flaps to help me stick in the saddle when Lily took off.
Dislikes: Nothing. It serves its purpose. I'd never show in it, or use it again one Lily's tame. Its not to comfy, but its better than landing on the arena footing again.
Quality: its ok. synthetic, and plastic. you really stick in the seat.
Summary: Serves its purpose, but wouldn't recommend for anything else.
