Purchase: Purchased online from Pelham Saddlery for $900, it was used but in excellent condition. Difficult to find in the US, this is a wonderful all purpose saddle. It has a cutback pommel to allow for a high withered horse. Removable front and back leg blocks to assist in holding your leg in the correct position. Excellent for jumping but classic looking enough for the dressage ring. Deeper seat and probably the most comfortable saddle you will ever sit in.
Likes: Cut back pommel, deeper seat, removable knee and calf blocks, longer flap, classic look and Kieffer construction and reliability.
Dislikes: Wish I could have afforded a brand new one!
Quality: Top of the line leather and construction. Tree is guaranteed by Kieffer and can be repaired for only the price of postage.
Summary: Kieffer is generally know for their dressage saddles but the Garmisch is definitely a testament to their ability to create a function, stylish and comfortable all purpose.
