Purchase: I bought these online from Horseloverz.com. I wanted to try jointed/flexible stirrups as I kept loosing my right stirrup when riding. I thought maybe a stirrup with some flex would help me keep my heel down and in doing so not loose my stirrup. I didn't want to spend a lot on a fancy pair, because if it didn't work I didn't want to be out the money. I got them for $18.99. They say they list for like $69, but I am not sure how true that really is...
Likes: I ordered these in 4.74 inches. They have a greyish/white rubber cover over the jointed area of the stirrup. They look nice enough. Not as shiny and polished as my regular stirrups, but not bad, and they didn't have any sharp edges from poor casting. They aren't super flexible, but they were comfortable and stable to ride in. I didn't loose my right stirrup once. I am not sure why they worked for that, but they did! My stirrup leathers re 3/4 inch and they went through the top of the stirrups just fine, I think you could have even a 1 inch thick leather and be ok.
Dislikes: There really isn't anything that I didn't like. All I can really say is that they aren't as fancy looking as the super expensive brands.
Quality: The construction of the stirrup is fine. The rubber that covers the jointed areas has held up. They are stainless steel. They are manufactured in China. I am not sure about how durable they will be in the end. I have had them for 2 months and so far so good.
Summary: I am pleased with my purchase. I would buy them again to try a jointed stirrup out. The price is so reasonable that even if you don't like them your not out a bunch of money. I'll keep using them to school in, but I think I will get a higher quality pair for showing in...these just don't have the polish and shine of a really quality piece of equipment. That being said though, they are serviceable and doing their job.
