Purchase: I originally found it online. I was doing online searches to find a better pad due to my ill fitting synthetic pads I have. I was going to purchase from an online retailer, but happened to find out the local tack shop carried a few of these. The inventory was very small because of their price and a lot of shops do not carry this pad.
Likes: From the time I put it on my horse I liked it. It contours the entire back like a broke in pad, it never condenses and stays put. I can easily pull up the front part of the pad and stays put.It absorbs sweat really good. After long rides in the saddle my horse's back feels and looks drier than my other old pads.
Dislikes: There is nothing I don't like. If I wanted to spend the extra money I could have ordered a colored pad online instead of the basic heather gray. But I use a western blanket on top of it anyways so I opted for the basic color (cheaper too).
Quality: Its very thick, well put together and has a soft feel and does not look or feel flimsy. It looks high quality too. Most pads have that synthetic stuff stuffed in the middle and sewn together so you cant see whats inside, but this pad has the same material all the way thru with no sewn edges.
Summary: It was pricey but best $209 I have spent and well worth it. I spend a lot of hours in the saddle at one time doing trails or working with cows. In the future, I might think about purchasing the 1"1/8" pad. I would recommend the 1" 1/8" if you are a serious rider. There is not a lot of difference in the 3/4" to the 1" I recommend the 1" at least. Anything less is not going to protect the back enough.
