Category: English Chaps/Boots/Helmets
Purchase: I acquired this item from my local tack shop. I paid about $90. Let's begin with the fact that they are surely not worth that!
Likes: Well, they are comfortable at first. The leather is supple at the zipper makes the boots very easy to put on. The soles are also very grippy in the saddle.
Dislikes: When I bought my first pair, I wore them around once a week for two months. I started to notice that I was walking very uncomfortably, so I sat down to take a look at my boots. That's when I notice the entire inside part rubber heels rubbing off. I didn't think that was a problem, so I kept wearing the boots. But my feet became incredibly sore, so I decided to take them back. The tack shop said I had a defected model. So they replaced the boots (thankfully!). So I waited months for these new boots to come, and when they finally did, I put them on and went back to the ranch to try them out. Then after four months(this time I wore them 3 days a week in the beginning, then down to 1 day a week at the end), I started walking uncomfortably AGAIN! So I sat down and relived the same experience as before. The heel was being rubbed off, and I was very angry. I figured they would hold up a while longer, so I continued to wear them, ignoring the discomfort they caused (I didnt want to wait months for new boots again). Then yesterday, my friend and I were riding our leased horses and she said, "Nicole, your boot heel is falling off!". I look down and she was right. The entire rubber heel was detached and hanging. That ended what was supposed to be an enjoyable trail ride. I am not going to bother purchasing those boots again!
Quality: The quality of the upper part of the boot is acceptable, with nice soft leather uppers and a strong zipper. However, the heels do not last long AT ALL! The rubber is so cheap and is not durable to any extent. And, the heel is not attached very well to the boot. That is poor quality, if you ask me!
Summary: Please, save your money and buy a nice pair of Ariats. That is definitely what I am going to do!
