Purchase: I got this at a tack shop closing sale for about 30% off. I think, but I'm not sure, that it was around $36 before the discount. I got it because I needed my own bit for my horse and her copper roller dee was pinching her lip and had cut it open.
Likes: I love the way that the oval center and curved mouthpiece prevent this bit from gouging my mare in the roof of the mouth. She does not fight with this bit the way she fought with previous bits. It delivers my rein contact clearly but not harshly. I like that it is a dee ring bit, too. The large hunter dees do look good on my mare's face. It has bit guards now just in case, but it doesn't seem to slide or pull through her mouth.
Dislikes: Nothing, really!
Quality: This bit is stainless steel with large hunter-style dee rings and an oval centerpiece. It doesn't pinch or gouge, and it is very comfortable for my mare. The curved mouth pieces are nice, too. It is a strong, good quality bit.
Summary: If your horse needs a comfortable bit that collapses more onto the bars and is practical, I recommend it! It works well for flatwork or jumping.
