Purchase: I bought this from State line Tack for $499. I needed a saddle for schooling, and I thought the easy care material would be perfect.
Likes: This saddle is SO comfortable! It puts me in a wonderful position for flatwork!
The suede knee patches are very grippy, and the knee blocks have saved me from falling several times. I was galloping my quarter horse when he got excited and bucked... my legs stayed securely in place!
I love how you can change the gullet... it fits EVERY horse from a 13hh pony to a 17hh draft.
This saddle is also very easy to clean! I can simply wipe it with a wet cloth and it looks as good as new! The material is very durable and waterproof, so I can now ride my horse through the sprinklers!
Dislikes: The billets are longer than average. I had to purchase a smaller girth to fit this saddle.
The saddle also does not look at all like leather. You can tell it is a Wintec from across the arena; especially since there is a huge "WINTEC" label on the stirrup leather keeper.
Also, do not attempt a jump in this saddle. When your stirrups are jumping length, your knees will stick out over the flaps/knee rolls. You would probably want to purchase the Wintec Pro Jump or Close Contact for jumping.
The "Easy-Change Gullet System" is not very easy to install. It took two people to get the new gullet installed.
Quality: This is probably one of the most quality synthetic saddles on the market! It is very strong and durable, and every part has held up great! My friend runs a lesson program and uses these saddles in it... they look brand new after constant every-day use!
Summary: This is a great saddle, and although it cannot be used in professional shows, it is an awesome choice for schooling, pleasure riding, or trail (not jumping). It is great quality that will fit every horse, and it will last you a very long time!
