Purchase: I bought this from a friend for only $350. She originally purchased it from State line Tack for $625. I had owned a Wintec 500, but I outgrew it, so I decided to buy the newer model... the amazing Wintec 2000!
Likes: This saddle is even more comfortable than the Wintec 500! I LOVE the suede sead and knee rolls! They are very grippy and make me feel so secure! The knee rolls are also very soft and flexible, providing my bad knees with outstanding comfort!
The adjusta-block system on this saddle allows you to choose the placement of the knee blocks, and I find that very convenient! It allows me to use my saddle for both pleasure riding and jumping!
The gullet system is also an advantage to this saddle. It fits every horse I ride, which I think is great!
Being a synthetic saddle, this saddle has a very fine appearance. I love the way it looks, and to me, it appears better than the Wintec 500!
Dislikes: I am not sure how old my Wintec 2000 is, but is has a different flap material than my riding partner. My Wintec 2000 has a shiny, somewhat plasticy looking flap, while her Wintec 200 has a grained surface that marks up less than mine. I am not sure why the flaps of our saddles are different materials, but I really wish mine had the grainy flap like hers!
I also do not like how easily the suede gets dirty. You can see almost every speck that lands on it, and it is hard for me to clean. When I did finally clean the suede (with water, as advised by Wintec), the suede had a different texture and looked rougher.
Quality: The quality of the Wintec 2000 is great. It is very well made and just seems like much better quality than the 500. I am not sure how long the suede seat and knee pads will last, but so far, they have held up pretty well!
Summary: This is a fantastic synthetic saddle choice. If you have to choose between the Wintec 500 and 2000, choose the 2000! I love it so much more!
