Purchase: I bought this saddle in 1995 for $800 from a tack store that is now closed
Likes: I LOVE THIS SADDLE! It was actually the first saddle I ever bought and it completely spoiled me for anything else! It's very comfortable and fits almost any horse I put it on... including my mare who's pretty hard to fit. I've let quite a few friends borrow it and EVERYONE HAS LOVED IT. I've recently had several offers to buy it... at well over 14 yrs old!
Dislikes: The newmarket color is beautiful, but VERY hard to find matching tack for. There's also very few horses that it looks really good on.
Quality: The saddle has held up beautifully. There was some wear from the stirrup leathers initially (which was mentioned in a review of a similar courbette), but I was just starting out and AS MY LEG BECAME STILL (ahem), the wear stopped.
Summary: LOVE IT! BUY IT! I don't even ride huntseat eq. anymore and I can't bring myself to part with it.
