Purchase: I bought this saddle used from a private seller on tacktrader.com for $375. I had bought a cheapy saddle from ebay that was serviceable for schooling, but I was getting more into showing and I needed a nicer saddle.
Likes: I really like the color of this saddle; it is a very rich color that compliments practically any horse I put it on, from my black and white paint to my red roan Appy. The leather was already broken in when received the saddle so it was already very supple and soft. The flaps are very flexible and the knee rolls are soft. It also cleans up nicely. After every time I have cleaned it, the soft glow of quality leather returns. Contrary to what many others have said about the seat, I think it's quite comfy. Compared to an old-school Courbette Stylist I've ridden in, the Alpina is heaven. It does not hinder the rider's ability to achieve correct position over jumps or on the flat. I also like the e-motion tree, it's a nice feature.
Dislikes: There isn't much I dislike about this saddle at all. However, the flap could be just a smidge more forward but that is only my personal opinion.
Quality: Great quality and construction! I didn't expect anything less from a reputable name though.
Summary: I would recommend this saddle to anyone looking for a quality saddle, especially if you can find it for the price that I did!
