Purchase: I purchased this dressage pad for $65 plus shipping through craigslist. They retail for $110 new, so I thought it was a good deal. I needed a large dressage pad for my baroque Oldenburg gelding, all the other sheepskin pads I tried: Fleeceworks and Mattes (what I could find used) didn't fit his broad frame.
Likes: This pad is nice. It's a size large and it fits my boy VERY well. It covers his back/sides and then some. I thought I'd never find something that would fit him properly. The woolback is comfortable and moisture wicking.
Dislikes: I wish the pad was spine free and that's it.
Quality: It has a gullet vent slit, but it doesn't go up into the gullet very well when used under saddle. It is a semi thick pad, but I think a comfort pad should be used for shock absorbing support. On a positive note, this pad does have a section where there is no bulk near the rider's leg, which makes communicating with your horse easier and doesn't interfere with leg cues. The wool also wicks away moisture and helps keep the horse cooler.
Summary: This pad is okay. I would rather find a large Mattes pad though. I have a smaller one for my Arab and he loves it.
