Purchase: I acquired this blanket from country supply(horse.com). I had been looking for a low priced 300gram winter turnout blanket, that was also tough. This blanket fit the bill having 300grams of fill, a 1200D ripstop outside, and a 210D inside lining. It is priced at 59.99.
Likes: This blanket is awesome, I love it. It goes on very easily with super super strong velcro and clips on the front, three belly straps(2 criss-cross, and 1 straight), and two leg straps. This blanket is very strong, it withstands kicks, biting, and everything else horses get into in pasture. My horses have rubbed this blanket up against trees and it still has no marks. I also have a Weatherbeeta and I would recommend this blanket before any Weatherbeeta. the way you put the blanket on is the way it comes off. This blanket will not shift, at all!! It doesn't rub and the neck fits almost any breed of horse, from Tennessee Walkers, Saddlebreds, Quarter horses, to Arabs, it fits them all. It never seems to be too big or small for any of them.
Dislikes: Their are only two things that I don't like on this blanket (1) there are no shoulder gussets, but instead they have shoulder arches, and (2) the sizing on the blanket runs a little small, so I'd recommend getting a size larger for your horse.
Quality: This blanket is made of top quality, durable 1200-denier ripstop polyester material with features including a weatherproof and breathable outer shell, 210 denier polyester lining, 300 gm fill, triple belly surcingle straps with T-lock connectors, removable elasticized inner leg straps, tail flap and easy on - off double snap ring open front closure with Velcro for extra security. Summary: Over all this is a blanket that I would definitely buy time and time again, although not to replace just to have more. This blanket should last me many more years to come, it is just that strong. My weatherbeeta got rips within the first week I had it and I've used this one for about 4 months now and it still doesn't have any signs of wear. This blanket was a great choice to buy. If you are looking for a durable warm blanket but don't have the money to buy something expensive this blanket is for you!!
