Purchase: I purchased this halter at Dover Saddlery for closeout price of $9.99. They retail regularly for $29.95. I needed a padded everyday halter for my two hooligans (LOL) who love to be tough on their halters.
Likes: This halter is very nice. I love it. I like the sturdy, but soft padding on the nose and crown. It has an adjustable buckle on the nose for precise fit and to help make tacking up/grooming easier. It is very elegant. I love the gold accent hardware and the "I Love My Horse" design on the nylon. I like that it has the rolled throat latch. It also has a thick leather strip for breakaway.
Dislikes: There's nothing!
Quality: This halter is sturdy for the price. It has an easy adjust system (on the nose and crown) and is softly padded. The nylon is soft but sturdy. The design is glamorous for nylon. They come in a large variety of colors: Pink, Navy, Royal Blue, Burgundy, Hunter Green, and Black. The Royal Blue looks heavenly on my Oldenburg. The adjustable holes are eyelets and rounded with metal, which improves longevity. They come in Cob and Oversize. When you receive it in the mail, it is nicely tied up with gold ribbon-like ties and looks like a gift. It has a thick leather breakaway feature and the leather has beautiful engraved metal buttons on it..making your horse look like royalty (or at least I think so).
Summary: I would recommend this halter to anyone! Rich or average! For the price, it is worth buying several. This would make an awesome gift for that special trainer/barn buddy. I ordered it myself and felt like it was a gift LOL. Great halter!
